  1. Think about your life journey.
    • Can you identify some “trials” or “fiery ordeals” that you have experienced?
  1. Looking back on those experiences:
    • How did they affect how you felt at the time?
    • How did they influence the direction or trajectory of your life?
  1. Peter Scazzero described moments in life when we hit “the wall.”
    • Have you experienced a “wall” in your life?
    • How did that season affect you—positively or negatively?
  1.  In the story of Job, Satan attempts to use suffering to separate Job from God.
    • Looking back at your own difficult experiences, how do you think those circumstances may have challenged or tested your faith?
  1. How have those difficult experiences shaped who you are today?
    • Have they changed how you see God, yourself, or others?
